| This
room is for Pre-School children of 3
to 5 years where emphasis is placed
on the Early Years curriculum, helping
prepare our 3 to 5 year olds for the
new world of 'big school' with the assistance
of our qualified teacher. |
| The
structure of the pre-school education
program is very similar to that of the
earlier 0 - 3 year-old framework, the
essential difference is the subject
being dealt with and how it is explored,
developed and encouraged. During the
course of a session the pre-schoolers
will have an opportunity to play and
learn different activities including
creative, communication, language and
literacy, mathematics, knowledge &
understanding of the world, physical
& social and emotional. |
| The
nursery encourages independent learning
through self selection of activities
during selected times of each and every
day. These are the Early Learning Goals,
which are set by the government with
a view to each child working towards
them by the end of their reception year
in school. |
